Appreciation
- Fireworks -
I've never really enjoyed fireworks. I've always found them less than satisfying. Not only are a lot of the fun ones illegal in Utah, but the show that is put is essentially the same thing every year. I got bored.
In Bulgaria they don't have the 4th of July, but on New Year's Eve it's like a war zone. Mortars fly everywhere, in all directions. It's quite the celebration. It was fun.
Ever been to a foreign country?
Ever seen starvation?
Ever lived a month with only a single $300 pay check paying for your family, your bills?
Ever walk out your front door to piles of trash littering your street?
Every been welcomed into a house for dinner, knowing you'll be fed what the whole family would eat in a week?
This year I enjoyed the fireworks.

Testimony
39 Now Alma said unto him: Will ye deny again that there is a God, and also deny the Christ? For behold, I say unto you, I know there is a God, and also that Christ shall come.
40 And now what evidence have ye that there is no aGod, or that Christ cometh not? I say unto you that ye have none, save it be your word only.
41 But, behold, I have all things as a atestimony that these things are true; and ye also have all things as a testimony unto you that they are true; and will ye deny them? Believest thou that these things are true?

Perspective
- Tanning by Moonlight -
How do we define reality?
Is it what our mortal eyes perceive? Is it by our physical senses? Can't these facilities be deceived and beguiled by a trick of a lens, by a sleight of hand, or perhaps by a chemical in our brain? Does our understanding and interpretation of the signals sent by our body actually change what reality is?
How then, do we define reality?

Something beautiful is growing among the thorns, weeds, and life killing cement that is rampant in Bulgaria.
I'll add a little more to this photo, since it is my first. The idea is that the photo represents something more about how I feel. For example, the picture of the rose represents not just a rose, but something else that's happening in Bulgaria. I don't want to tell you exactly what I'm referring to, but feel free to add your opinions to it.
Ph-logging
I'm not particularly good with words. I'm not particularly good at expressing myself verbally or otherwise, and I'm really not all that great at blogging. Ok, maybe that's all an understatement, because I actually do do alright writing and expressing myself verbally. But I had a blog once. It didn't fly, so I thought I'd try something little different; I want to blog photos. Photos that reflect how I feel. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll be saving my fingers a lot of pain by photo-blogging. Maybe I'll put some clever caption underneath to help with the understanding. Let me know what you all think (all 1 or 2 of you who actually take anytime whatsoever to check my blog).
